FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ’S)
Am I a social enterprise?
If your enterprise generates income and creates social, cultural or environmental benefits, and is First Nations owned and led, yes, you’re a First Nations social enterprise.
Do I need to be certified with Supply Nation or any other organisation to demonstrate I am First Nations owned & led?
No. Certification is not required to be recognised as a First Nations business or to take part. We know certification processes can be complex and not always accessible. What matters most to us is that your enterprise is First Nations owned & led.
Do I need to be certified as a social enterprise?
No. We don’t require formal social enterprise certification. Part of our work together is about changing how First Nations ways of working are recognised, moving beyond schemes that can be limiting or inaccessible.
What if I’m just starting out?
We welcome enterprises at any stage, from early ideas through to established businesses.
When and where will the program be held?
The program will be held in Garramilla/Darwin, Northern Territory, across two days, Tuesday 21 & Wednesday 22 April 2026. Given the limited flight options, participants are asked to allow a day either side for travel.
Can I participate online?
This is an in-person gathering only. It is designed to be embodied and highly collaborative. It is a condition of participation that you’ll be required to: be able to travel to Garramilla/Darwin, and be present for the full two days. If you’re available at the time of applying and your circumstances change, we’ll ask you to let us know as early as possible to open the opportunity up to others.
Because the work is highly collaborative, it’s not possible to take part online if you’re unable to travel. Participation requires being available across the full two days in-person in Garramilla/Darwin.
How will participants be selected?
Internal and independent assessors will review applications to make sure the group reflects a diverse range of enterprises, sectors/industries, experiences and voices.
What happens after the gathering? How will what I share be used?
The insights shared will help shape a First Nations Values Framework and Values Map for the social enterprise sector. Participants will be expected to review and give feedback on these resources. Insights and experiences you share in the workshop may be included in program learnings and outcomes, and can be anonymised if you choose that. All sharing will respect Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) and the integrity of your stories and experiences.
Are there any costs to participate?
No, there are no costs to participate. All travel, accommodation, meals, and program expenses are fully covered.
Will I be paid for my time?
